XTOURING Full Frame Bag Dry Installation Guide

Designed for Various Frame Geometries with Maximum Stability

The XTOURING Full Frame Bag Dry is one of the few fully waterproof full frame bags designed to fit a wide variety of frame geometries.

Whether you ride a road bike, gravel bike, touring bike, or MTB, the mounting system can be adjusted to suit different frame shapes, making it a trusted choice for bikepackers on long-distance adventures.

Installation Principle

The most important principle is to keep the bottom of the bag as close to the down tube as possible so that the weight of the bag and its contents is primarily supported by the frame's down tube.

Once the lower mounting points are secured, adjust the head tube, seat tube, and top tube attachment points according to your frame geometry for maximum stability.

Included Accessories

(See accessory photo.)

(A) 65 cm Double-Sided Hook-and-Loop Strap

  • Can be cut to the desired length to fit different tube diameters.
  • Designed for use on the down tube, seat tube, and other mounting positions.
  • Provides a secure, custom fit for various frame sizes.

(B) Anti-Slip Hook-and-Loop Straps (2 pcs)

Recommended when:

  • Your bike's top tube features a Daisy Chain attachment system, and
  • The mounting positions align with the bag's attachment points.

These straps provide additional grip and help minimize side-to-side movement.

If your frame does not match the Daisy Chain mounting positions, these straps are optional and do not need to be installed.

Road / Touring / Gravel Bike Installation

(Refer to the Gravel installation illustration.)

Secure the bag following the order ① → ⑦.

① Head Tube

Secure using the built-in webbing strap and buckle attached to the bag.

② & ③ Down Tube

Use the (A) 65 cm Double-Sided Hook-and-Loop Strap.

Trim the strap to the appropriate length according to your frame tube diameter before fastening.

④ Lower Seat Tube

Secure using the (A) 65 cm Double-Sided Hook-and-Loop Strap.

Trim the strap to fit the tube diameter.

⑤ Upper Seat Tube

Secure using the built-in webbing strap and buckle attached to the bag.

⑥ & ⑦ Top Tube

Roll the bag opening inward to complete the waterproof roll-top closure.

Then secure the two side webbing straps to the attachment points on the opposite side using the metal G-hook buckles.

Important

  • Tighten the top tube straps only enough to hold the bag in shape.
  • Their primary function is to limit the bag's width.
  • Do not overtighten the straps, as excessive tension may damage the bag.

For the best fit:

  1. Open the air valve to release excess air inside the bag.
  2. Close the air valve after the air has been expelled.

This reduces the bag's thickness and helps prevent contact with your knees while riding.

MTB / Compact Frame Installation

(Refer to the MTB installation illustration.)

Secure the bag following the order ① → ⑦.

① Head Tube

Secure using the built-in webbing strap.

Adjust the position and tension according to your frame geometry.

② & ③ Down Tube

Use the (A) 65 cm Double-Sided Hook-and-Loop Strap.

Trim the strap to the appropriate length before fastening.

④ Lower Seat Tube

Secure using the (A) 65 cm Double-Sided Hook-and-Loop Strap.

Trim the strap to fit the tube diameter.

⑤ Upper Seat Tube

Secure using the built-in webbing strap.

Adjust the mounting position as needed to achieve the best fit for your frame.

⑥ & ⑦ Top Tube

After rolling and sealing the bag opening, secure both side webbing straps using the metal G-hook buckles.

Important

  • Do not overtighten the top tube straps.
  • They only need to minimize side-to-side movement of the bag.

For a slimmer profile, release the air inside the bag through the air valve before riding. This allows the bag to sit closer to the frame and provides additional knee clearance.

Installation Tips

Secure the down tube first (② & ③). The down tube should support most of the bag's weight.

The seat tube attachments (④ & ⑤) help prevent the bag from moving forward or backward.

The top tube attachments (⑥ & ⑦) are intended only to control the bag's width. Avoid overtightening.

Use the air valve to remove excess air after installation. This creates a flatter, more stable profile and reduces knee rub while pedaling.

✔ If the Daisy Chain attachment points on your top tube align with the corresponding webbing loops on the bag, you can install the (B) Anti-Slip Hook-and-Loop Straps for additional stability. If they do not align, simply omit them—this will not affect normal installation or performance.
